I FELT I had to write to you over the Midweek article on the Asian Mela.

In my opinion and others that I spoke to there it was a waste of time.

I went to the very first mela and that was OK, but as the years have gone on, it has got steadily worse and the stalls are getting very few.

On my reckoning there were about four clothes stalls, two or three material stalls and about four to six eating places.

As for the dance tent it was empty when I got there. The live stage show was really not all that and as for it drawing in crowds from all over the county, it was mostly local people down there.

Yes, there were a few white people, but not many. My friend who I went with was of the same opinion and people who I have spoken to all said the same – that it was rubbish and it has got smaller each year.

I do not know why the organisers do not combine it together with the Wycombe Show as it would be a much better day.

I am Asian and would like all communities bought together. After all isn't that what Wycombe is all about – living as one community and all understanding each other's cultures.

I always hope the next mela will be better than the last one, better and bigger, but it never is. It is always smaller and worse and so after five melas I think I will not bother with any more.

What do other people think or are they too scared to be honest?
