A man has been fined hundreds of pounds after getting caught driving on the hard shoulder of the M40 motorway.
Mohammed Alam, 20, of Wilkins Road, Oxford, appeared before High Wycombe Magistrates' Court on April 4.
The court heard that Alam was caught driving carelessly along the M40 at High Wycombe on September 17 last year.
At one point, he was observed travelling along the hard shoulder.
He pleaded guilty to charges of driving without due care and attention and driving on the hard shoulder.
As a result, he was handed a £100 fine, and must pay £110 in court costs and a £40 victim surcharge.
In addition, his driving licence was endorsed with six points.
